“They handle a wide variety of local law; they’re fantastic with those issues, knowing the ins and outs. They’re good at finding where that uncertainty lies and giving us the pros and cons.”

AIJA | Half-Year Conference

Speakers
Chatura Randeniya and Private: Adite Aloke

Chatura Randeniya, partner, spoke on the “Impact of the Global Pandemic on Construction Disputes” on the 18th November at the AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers‘ half-year conference which took place in Dubai.  This session was organised by the International Arbitration Commission.

The session discussed construction projects in the Middle East and elsewhere having experienced substantial delays or having come to a complete stop due to the pandemic. The reasons are manifold: government orders, shortages of materials, or social distance measures, to name a few.

Adite Aloke, senior associate, was excited to have participated in a panel discussion about the role of women in business and law at the AIJA Half-Year November Conference 2021. The session took place on 17 November at the Habtoor Palace, Dubai.

The session was moderated by Irène Suter-Sieber from Walder Wyss, and joined by other panelists Hana Al Khatib (Global Advocacy & Legal Counsel), Luisa Rödemer (Littler), Ailie Murray (Travers Smith) and Clotilde Iaia Polak (Yungo).
